When Saweetie officially announced in March that she and Quavo were through and that she was “single,” she was apparently in the middle of a photo shoot for W Magazine’s Music Issue. The 27-year-old “ICY GRL” rapper spoke with Editor At Large Lynn Hirschberg about her music, her goals, and her career – but she didn’t dish much on the circumstances surrounding the end of her relationship with Quavo, 30. During the chat, and after Saweetie fired off that now-famous tweet, she said she stopped reading the reaction to the breakup. “I could give my attention to something that could drain me,” she explained, “or I could focus on what would empower me. And that is this shoot.”

Saweetie is looking forward to a warm summer with her Icy Gang fandom.

Saweetie has turned her rage at ex-boyfriend Quavo allegedly cheating on her into a hot new song. The 27-year-old dropped a new seven track EP on Apr. 16 called Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 and in the song “See Saw” she goes off on a man who did her wrong. While Sacramento based songstress Kendra Jae takes the vocals on the tune, Saweetie — real name Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper — comes in and drops the bars where she calls Quavo a “narcissist.”

Saweetie is featured on a new version of Gwen Stefani's “Slow Clap” with the pair sharing a video in which they take over a high school, dancing with the students in gym class to the song. Check that out below.

Rappers Saweetie and Quavo got into a physical altercation in an elevator before their split, according to footage obtained by TMZ. The video of Quavo and Saweetie’s elevator fight comes less than two weeks after news of the couple’s breakup.
