NU’EST singer Baekho has left longtime label Pledis Entertainment after 13 years with the company.On March 6, Pledis Entertainment announced on Weverse that Baekho’s contract with the company is due to expire on March 14, and would not be renewed. “After thorough and honest discussions about the future direction of his career, both Baekho and Pledis Entertainment have mutually agreed to end the contract,” it wrote.“Since his debut as a member of NU’EST in 2012, Baekho has built a distinguished career as a singer-songwriter while expanding his presence into musicals, variety shows, and various other fields,” Pledis Entertainment added.

NU’EST member Hwang Min-hyun has made his solo debut with his new mini-album ‘Truth or Lie’, led by the title track ‘Hidden Side’.On February 27 at 6PM KST, the 27-year-old singer released his debut mini-album ‘Truth or Lie’ and its lead single ‘Hidden Side’. In the sleek new visual, Hwang teleports between a drab office and a crowded club where approaching a woman, who becomes intrigued after he seems to disappear into thin air.“Can you see? Timing that will captivate you with no warning / Privacy reflected in your eyes / Fill the scene in your heart with me,” he sings in the groovy chorus.In addition to ‘Hidden Side’, Hwang’s new mini-album includes five B-sides, ‘Honest’, ‘Crossword’, ‘Perfect Type’, ‘Smile’ and ‘CUBE’.Hwang is the third NU’EST member to go solo, following Baekho with ‘Absolute Zero’ in October 2022 and Kim Jong-hyun (formerly JR) with ‘MERIDIEM’ in November 2022.

NU’EST member Kim Jong-hyeon (previously known as JR) will be making his long-awaited solo debut this November.On October 11 at Midnight KST, EVERMORE Entertainment shared a black-and-white visualiser clip on its YouTube channel announcing the title and release details of the idol’s upcoming debut record. Titled ‘Meridiem’, Kim’s first mini-album arrives on November 8 at 6PM KST.Further details such as the album’s tracklist are expected in the coming weeks.So far, Kim has only released solo tracks as B-sides — such as 2021’s ‘Doom Doom’ — on NU’EST’s albums, or appeared as a featured artist on other singers’ singles.

NU’EST singer Kim Jong-hyun has been confirmed to be making his solo debut sometime in November.Earlier today (September 28), Kim’s label EVERMORE Entertainment issued a brief statement to Newsen announcing the K-pop idol’s forthcoming solo debut. “Kim Jong-hyun will make a comeback this November with his first mini album,” the company wrote, as translated by Soompi. According to Newsen, Kim’s forthcoming record will “capture his diverse musical spectrum as well as his limitless ability to digest different genres”.While specifics about the release including its format, release date, tracklist and more will be unveiled by EVERMORE Entertainment at a later stage, Kim’s – who previously went under the moniker of J.R while in NU’EST – solo debut will mark his first music since the boyband disbanded earlier this year.The five-piece parted ways in March following the release of their final album ‘Needle and Bubble’, featuring title track ‘Spring, Again’.

NU’EST member Baekho has hinted at plans to release solo music later this year.In a recent interview with Singles Magazine, the singer revealed that he is “working hard” on his debut as a solo artist. “I’m focusing and working hard on how I can utilize my voice better to create more versatile sounds within one song,” Baekho explained, as translated by Soompi.
