Funeral For A Friend will be replacing Bad Omens at Download Festival next week.Bad Omens were supposed to headline the second stage on the first day of the Donington Park festival but announced on May 23 that they were pulling out due to frontman Noah Sebastian suffering from “extreme burnout”.“While all the touring and work that we’ve put into this album cycle the last several years has been so rewarding and gratifying, it has also pushed me to the limits of my mental bandwidth,” he said in a statement. “Putting my mind and body in conflict with one another in ways that are becoming detrimental to my health on the road.”“This decision is in the best interest of my health and wellbeing, and of the long term sustainability of Bad Omens.“We need to protect and restore all of the energy that will be demanded of us again soon as we transition into the next chapter.”Now, it has been confirmed that Funeral For A Friend will be taking their place.

Funeral For A Friend, The Blackout, Holding Absence and more will come together to pay tribute to Linkin Park at a huge show in Birmingham later this year.Taking place at the Utilita Arena on August 18, the show is being put on by the Uprawr Foundation, a local charity founded by an alternative club night in the city to raise money to help provide free mental health counselling and services to the alternative community.The show was christened ‘1,000 Lights’ in reference to Linkin Park’s final album ‘One More Light’. Indeed, the Utilita Arena was the last place late frontman Chester Bennington performed before he took his own life in 2017 at the age of 41.The show will also feature talks and video messages from famous faces in the alternative music world as well as a performance from tribute band Linkin P4rk.Musicians can sign up to participate and will be tasked with fundraising for the charity via JustGiving.
