Following her scene-stealing performance in the James Bond film, “No Time To Die,” some Bond fans were annoyed when the Bond Broccoli producers said they wouldn’t be making spin-off films with characters like Ana De Armas’ Paloma character from Cary Fukunaga’s spy movie. No worries, their loss is a big win for a somewhat similar elegant killer role in the “John Wick” spin-off film, “Ballerina.” Deadline reports that “Ballerina, “a female-led “John Wick” spin-off first announced in 2019, is moving forward, and Armas will have the lead role.

Yesterday, Lionsgate pushed back its “John Wick” spinoff “Ballerina” a year from its initial June 7 release date to June 6, 2025. Why the delay? Well, franchise fans already knew that Chad Stahelski was back in the fold as creative supervisor to shoot additional action sequences for the film.

It’s official: Deadline reports that Lionsgate will delay the release of the upcoming “John Wick” spinoff “Ballerina” with Ana de Armas for a year. The film now opens in theaters on June 6, 2025 as opposed to its initial June 7 release.

She's starring as a secret agent in the forthcoming film , then she's entering the gun-blazing world of the universe in the forthcoming spin-off, Ballerina.The Oscar-nominated actress walked the red carpet at the premiere at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City on Tuesday and spoke with ET about her hotly anticipated role in «That is gonna be really another level,» de Armas teased.

It’s undeniable that Keanu Reeves, director Chad Stahelski and screenwriter/creator Derek Kolstad have put together one hell of a crowd-pleasing action franchise with the quadrilogy of “John Wick” films that keep turning out to be financial successes for Lionsgate. As the prospect of “John Wick 5” is less clear despite the strong box office returns of the recent installment, they are going to keep fans happy with a handful of spinoffs on the way, including the series prequel “The Continental” that is expected to debut this September and a feature film starring Ana de Armas as Rooney, an assassin/ballerina from Wick’s criminal syndicate (The Ruska Roma) looking for revenge after hitmen kill her family.

It would appear that “No Time to Die” left actress Ana de Armas in a unique position. She was sent a ton of action scripts and offers to lead action films.

Lionsgate is already filming their highly anticipated “John Wick” franchise spinoff “Ballerina” in Prague. The film, helmed by Len Wiseman (“Live Free Or Die Hard“) stars Ana de Armas (“The Gray Man”) as the deadly heroine.

The world of “John Wick” is expected to grow quite a bit in the next couple of years.
