High winds caused part of a building near to a popular Lanarkshire pub to collapse. Emergency services raced to The Barleycorn in Hamilton this morning after masonry fell from the building as torrential rain and winds continue to batter the West of Scotland.
Officers cordoned part of Low Waters Road as fire fighters work to ensure it is safe, reports Glasgow Live. Neighbours reported hearing a loud rumbling before the section of the building collapsed.But a message on The Barleycorn's Facebook page says they are open for business despite the drama.It explains: "The Barleycorn open as usual folks, our neighbour's chimney breast blew down due to high winds."Police Scotland issued a statement warning drivers to avoid the area, saying:.
