Joel Souza, the writer and director of the movie Rust, has been released from the hospital after suffering injuries in the tragic accident on set.
A prop gun being used by Alec Baldwin was discharged and took the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
It also injured Joel. Halyna was taken by helicopter to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The authorities say that Joel “was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical center,” where he received treatment for his injuries.
