Mum breaks down after finding out vet 'left pet dog rotting for five weeks'
dog owner has admitted that she has cried every day since being told her pet had been left "rotting" for five weeks following its death.Dawn Stanley, from Southport, learned that her beloved dog Dotty's body had been kept "in storage" for more than a month with vets confessing they didn't realise the 56-year-old mum's precious pooch was in there.After falling ill with an upset stomach in August, Dotty was taken by Dawn to the PDSA pet hospital in Huyton, Liverpool in a "terrible state", where the dog was then taken into care by Vets Now, who run a night-time emergency service from the building.READ MORE: Prince Harry 'clings' to Meghan Markle because he's 'needy', royal expert claims They later let Dawn know that her pet had aspiration pneumonia, "meaning she'd probably been sick and inhaled some".A distraught Dawn, who had owned Dotty for almost 12 years since being a puppy, told the Liverpool Echo: "They said that she’s got a good chance. Then, at half-three that morning, I got a call saying she passed away."I was devastated.
