Man Utd have saved over £14million as Anthony Martial fails to activate add-on clauses
La Liga side Sevilla on loan for the rest of the season, having failed to impress since arriving from Monaco for £58m in 2015.While there is no option for Sevilla to make the deal permanent, Martial will certainly hope to use his spell in Spain to reignite his stuttering United career.Martial had scored just once this season and was increasingly on the fringes of Ralf Rangnick’s plans, though his inconsistent performances have helped United financially.When he was signed from Ligue 1 giants Monaco, the deal contained a number of sell-on clauses, with the Red Devils only paying £36m of the fee up-front.At the time, Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev described the performance-related bonuses that made up the rest of the deal as being ‘very realistic’ to achieve.There were three main clauses that made up the rest of the £21m of the fee that United were to pay Monaco.Only one of those has been activated though, according to the Daily Mail, with that one related to Martial’s scoring record.Will Anthony Martial be a success on loan at Sevilla?
