Dallas Good, singer and guitarist for band the Sadies, dies aged 48 after ‘sudden passing’
died at the age of 48.The musician’s death was announced by the group in a statement shared on Facebook, as they expressed their ‘unfathomable sadness’ over his ‘sudden passing’.‘It’s with unfathomable sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dallas on Thursday, February 17th,’ they said.‘Forty eight years old, he died of natural causes while under doctor’s care for a coronary illness discovered earlier this week.’The Sadies described their late bandmate as ‘a son, a brother, a husband, a friend, a bandmate, a leader, a force to be reckoned with’, saying that they ‘have no words for the shock we are all feeling’.Saying that they ‘join the rest of our music community and fans in grief’, they wrote: ‘The stage is dark today with the all too soon passing of one of music’s brightest lights. We love you Dallas.’Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, the Sadies merge rock and roll with country and western music, with the band also consisting of the late musician’s brother Travis Good, bassist Sean Dean and drummer Mike Belitsky.The Goods are the nephews of Brian and Larry Good, members of the Canadian country band The Good Brothers.The Sadies were originally formed in 1994, releasing their first album, Precious Moments, four years later.They have since released numerous albums throughout the years, their most recent being the 2017 record ​​Northern Passages.Tributes have come flooding in to honour Good, with musician and record producer Steve Albini writing on Twitter: ‘Just got word of Dallas Good of the Sadies passing.
