Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games has apologised for a “super rough start” to its Alpha 3.18 update, with the sci-fi game currently experiencing server outages and error messages.The Alpha 3.18: Lasting Legacies update was launched on Friday (March 10) and introduced salvaging, new vehicles, more locations, and extra missions to complete.However, Friday’s update has also caused a number of issues for players, with Star Citizen‘s servers suffering from outages and downtime.As of today (March 14), Star Citizen‘s server status page warns of partial outages and issues with players trying to log in. With many players left unable to properly play the latest update, Cloud Imperium Games has said that it is “sorry for the super rough start” and explained the studio has “all hands on deck” trying to fix the issues.We're sorry for the super rough start – our team is all hands on deck working to get things running smoothly as quickly as possible.

Star Citizen has now received over $500,000,000 (£440,942,500) from fans via its crowdfunder, with $100,000,000 (£88,200,500) of that coming in the last 12 months.Star Citizen was originally announced back in 2012, with the initial crowdfunder raising $2.1million (£1.8million).Now, a decade later, it’s gone on to earn developer Cloud Imperium Games $500,123,234 (£441,051,178) according to the official “funds raised” section of the Star Citizen website, with over 4million people pledging.Star Citizen was originally meant to be released in 2014 but according to Cloud Imperium Games’ Carl Jones, both it and standalone spin-off Squadron 42 (the game’s long-awaited and much-delayed standalone single-player story adventure) are apparently “years away” from launch.“I guess we’ll see how long [director Chris Roberts] needs to be over,” he said earlier this year. “But yeah, it could be one or two years more.

Roberts Space Industries has released Alpha 3.14 for Star Citizen, which adds a massive city in the clouds and more.The update adds several features, the primary of which is the Crusader gas giant and its floating city, Orison. The planet is the last to be added to the Star Citizen’s Stanton system and finishes the content plan for the location.
