NICK Knowles has paid an emotional tribute to dad Simon Dobbin who died after being battered by football hooligans. The DIY SOS presenter, 58, shared some kind words about the Cambridge United football fan, who he met when he appeared on the show in January 2019. Simon Dobbin, 48, was left brain-damaged after he was viciously assaulted after a match between his beloved team and Southend United, five years ago. The dad-of-one and his wife Nicole appeared on DIY SOS and TV presenter Nick Knowles, interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen and dozens of volunteers spent nine days adapting the house to better suit Mr Dobbin's needs.
