Barack Obama, 59, had a confession to make: the 44th president of the United States has had help from his daughters Malia, 22, and Sasha, 19, to curate his famous year-end music playlists. The former POTUS explained how his music recommendations are always so up-to-date during an interview on The Dec. 4 episode of the Snapchat show Good Luck America, hosted by Peter Hamby.

President Barack Obama has a lot of reasons to be proud of his daughters Sasha and Malia. But one of their best qualities that the A Promised Land author, 59, couldn’t help but ardently praise was their initiative to get involved with the Black Lives Matter demonstrations that occurred over the summer. “I didn’t have to give them a lot of advice because they had a very clear sense of what was right and what was wrong and [of] their own agency and the power of their voice and the need to participate,” the former president said of Malia, 22, and Sasha, 19, in an interview with People.

If there’s one thing that Barack Obama‘s learned over the past two decades, it’s to steer clear of Sasha Obama. The former president joked during his November 19 Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance that he’s, frankly, kind of “scared” of his youngest daughter, who takes after wife Michelle Obama. “Sasha is a mini Michelle,” Obama joked about his 19-year-old. “I’m afraid of Michelle and Sasha, having seen that, basically has the same look and same attitude.”

Barack Obama has discussed the importance of being a father to his two daughter Malia, 22, and Sasha, 19. The former US President, 59, opened up about why he dedicated his new 768 page memoir A Promised Land, to the girls in a sweet Instagram caption. “The fact that my own father was largely absent from my childhood helped shape my ideas about the kind of father I intended to be,” he captioned a throwback photo of his family when the two girls were just toddlers.

In the former FLOTUS’ upcoming Netflix documentary special, Becoming,  Malia  and  Sasha Obama  open up about their mother. To mark Earth Day, former President  Barack Obama  shared a beautiful picture of a throwback hike with daughter  Malia  during the family visit to Yosemite Park in 2016. In the stunning picture we can see father and daughter framed by the most incredible scenery. Malia and  Sasha ’s dad smiles at his eldest daughter as the pair chat on the top of a mountain in the middle of the nature haven in California’s Sierra Nevada.

The former First Lady of the United States wrote an inspiring message, in honor of the holiday, and shared an adorable throwback of her and Barack Obama’s girls. “As many of us celebrate Easter and Passover during this time of physical distancing, I know that we may be missing the togetherness and traditions we’ve shared in years past,” she wrote. “This year, I’ve been feeling a newfound sense of gratitude for all the little moments I used to take for granted.”

Empty nest no more! Michelle and Barak Obama’s celebrations as parents without kids in the house have wrapped as their daughters Sasha, 18, and Malia, 21, are home from school due to the recent Coronavirus pandemic. “I shouldn’t have boasted about that,” she told her friend Ellen DeGeneres during a phone call. “The Gods were getting me back. They’re back. Everybody’s home. The girls are back because colleges are now online. They’re off in their respective rooms doing their online classes and ignoring us.”

Ellen DeGeneres, 62, continued to deal with her deep boredom during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order by calling more and more of her celebrity friends. And that now includes former First Lady Michelle Obama, who gave a little insight into what her famous family is doing during the shutdown. Ya know, we’re just trying to, like, structure our days,” Obama told the comedian. “I mean, everybody’s home,” Michelle, 56, told Ellen during their March 23 chat. “The girls are back because colleges are now online. So they’re off in their respective rooms doing their online classes and I think Barack is — I don’t know where he is. He was on the phone on a conference call. I just got finished with a conference call.”
