Kerry Washington recreates Rosa Parks mugshot: 'She took that seat in order to take a stand'
Kerry Washington paid tribute to late civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks in recreating a February 1956 mugshot of Parks after her arrest in the Montgomery Bus Boycott.'Back with some more #BlackHERstory! This time celebrating THE Rosa Parks,' the 45-year-old star said in the caption of Parks, who was famously arrested December 1, 1955 after refusing to relinquish her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama. In a side-by-side shot, Washington donned a grey patterned coat over a white button-up top with glasses and her hair parted and braided. She held up a sign reading '7053,' which was the booking number authorities assigned her in the wake of her arrest at the boycott.
