The months of September and October are considered to be some of the best to visit Scotland and it's easy to see why, the weather tends to stabilise, meaning you get plenty of fairer days which are dry, sunny, and not too cold (well for Scotland anyway) – making it ideal for walks.

With December just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about one of the season's most underrated highlights: winter walks.
