direct to your inboxFour areas of Trafford have managed to ‘suppress’ coronavirus.According to data on the government’s interactive Covid-19 tracking map, the areas – all in the south of the borough – had fewer than three new cases confirmed in the week ending February 24.In the government’s own words, it means the areas have ‘suppressed’ the virus – as things stand.The wards – Hale, Hale Barns, Bowdon and Timperley South – were all previously ‘hotspots’ for the virus.Coun Nathan Evans, Conservative representative for Timperley, said: “It’s quite incredible, what an achievement.“Hats off to the people of Timperley for following lockdown rules rules and keeping it under control.“It’s amazing.
