NBC has confirmed that SNL‘s Colin Jost has left Tahiti after acting as a surfing correspondent during the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Deadline reported on Monday.Jost’s correspondent gig for NBC was “always supposed to be short term,” per Deadline, so it’s unclear if his exit is solely due to his health woes.The 42-year-old comedian cut his foot on a coral reef and later developed a staph infection and an ear infection.He’s been replaced by Australian weather anchor Luke Bradnam, who was already in Tahiti covering the Olympics.The Post has reached out to Jost’s rep for comment.Jost’s struggles in Tahiti started last month when he injured his foot after hitting the reef.He posted a picture of his bandaged and bloodied wounds via social media on July 29.“You know it’s going great when you’ve been to the Olympic medical tent more than any of the athletes,” he wrote in his caption.On July 30, Jost revealed that he got an ear infection, on top of already having a staph infection. “I woke up this morning and discovered that I had added ear infection to my growing list of ailments,” he said in an interview from the pool in Tahiti.

“It’s a weird feeling when you’re in the medical tent way more than any of the athletes,” Colin Jost told NBC Olympics host Maria Taylor last week.
