Brent Lang Executive Editor of Film and MediaMTV Documentary Films has acquired worldwide rights to Ondi Timoner’s “Last Flight Home,” a moving and deeply personal portrait of family dealing with the last days of their patriarch. The documentary had several bidders and the sale was highly competitive. “Last Flight Home” was a favorite with critics after it premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Mónica Marie Zorrilla MTV Entertainment Group— which includes MTV, Comedy Central, VH1 and multiple other ViacomCBS brands — announced today the promotions of Lance McPherson to executive VP and deputy general counsel and Bahareh Kamali to executive VP, strategic development.“Lance and Bahareh are consummate pros who bring a high level of expertise and experience, forging groundbreaking deals and partnerships that are instrumental to our success in this ever-evolving landscape,” said Nina L. Diaz, president of content, chief content officer, in a statement.In their new roles, McPherson will oversee the business and legal affairs functions for the full breadth of the MTVE portfolio, studios business and MTV Documentary Films.

MTV Entertainment Group has promoted veteran executives Lance McPherson and Bahareh Kamali to key roles. McPherson has been elevated to Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs, and Kamali to Executive Vice President of Strategic Development.
