Woman with eczema defies trolls who call her 'diseased pig skin' by posing in bikinis
Karina Irby has opened up about childhood bullying and how she combats trolls. The 32-year-old Australian beauty often shares uplifting and unedited pics of herself on Instagram in a bid to defy the strict beauty standards inflicted on women.Karina – who also owns the brand Moana Bikini – is never shy about revealing her eczema, stretch marks and cellulite while basking in the sun. But, despite her 1.2 million followers adoring her self-love content, there are also those who leave her incredibly nasty comments.Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Karina shared how she doesn’t let the haters win.“The first unedited photo I uploaded was when my eczema was flaring up at its worst and that would have been three years ago,” she explained.“The reason I wanted to upload an unedited photo is because I had just had enough of hiding the person that I really was and I was really struggling mentally with my skin.“Given that I’ve got Moana and we’re all about trying to feel good about ourselves, I thought ‘You know what? I’m just going to post this and I’m just going to hope that I don't get many nasty comments.’”The decision to do so wasn’t an easy one but it’s something Karina is glad she did.She continued: “Growing up with bullying in the schoolyard, I was really scared but I posted it and the feedback was so heartwarming and phenomenal that I wondered why I didn’t do it sooner.“People were relating to it so much and I actually felt like Superwoman posting it because other people started posting their skin conditions as well.
