Grammy Awards: Nirvana's Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear reconnect
Nirvana's three surviving members – Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear – reunited at the 65th Grammy Awards' weekend. The trio hit the red carpet for the main event on Sunday after receiving a Special Merit Award on Saturday. On the red carpet, the 54-year-old Grohl wore a black leather jacket over a black turtleneck and tight black pants. He stood in black shoes, and his dark brown hair brushed the top of his shoulders. While also spending time with his bandmates, family also surrounded Grohl. His wife Jordyn Blum stood beside him as did their three daughters: 16-year-old Violet, 13-year-old Harper and eight-year-old Ophelia.  Big weekend: Nirvana's three surviving members – Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear – reconnected at the 65th Grammy Awards' weekend (L to R: Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear)Novoselic, 57, wore a bright yellow shirt underneath a black blazer while Smear, 63, went with an all black suit sans tie. Their attendance on Sunday came after the trio received a Special Merit Award from the Recording Academy on Saturday. The trio received their award for their time as the iconic grunge band Nirvana which was active from 1987 to 1994. Nirvana received commercial and critical acclaim for their angsty, grunge music but broke up after lead singer Kurt Cobain shot and killed himself in 1994.Despite not being their in-person Cobain was clearly on the group's mind as Novoselic quoted him when accepting the award. 'Teenage angst has paid off well,' he said quoting the band's song Serve the Servants before adding, 'And so it has.' Serve the Servants appeared on the highly-successful Nirvana album In Utero.
