Ray MacDonnell died of natural causes on June 10 aged 93 in his home in Chappaqua, New York, with his memorial expected to be private with close relatives and family, his daughter said.Sarah MacDonnell, one of his three children, told Michael Fairman TV of the memorial just over two weeks after her father had passed away.Most famous for his role in All My Children, Ray spent more than 40 years on its soap after joining in 1970, before retiring when it moved its production from New York to Los Angeles.He returned to the show in 2011 for a few appearances as Dr Joe Martin with his on-screen wife Ruth Martin, played by Lee Meriwether.Ray also returned to the ABC programme in for its final episode.
