Kevin Smith has revealed that he tried to cast his daughter Harley Quinn Smith in his new film but she refused citing nepotism as the reason.His latest film, The 4:30 Film is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age movie.According to a synopsis: “During the summer of 1986, three 16-year-old buddies spend their Saturdays sneaking into movies at the local cineplex. When one of the guys invites the girl of his dreams to see an R-rated film, all hilarity breaks loose as a self-important theatre manager and teenage rivalries interfere with his best-laid plans.”In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Smith opened up about wanting to cast his daughter for the lead role in the film since his wife – Jennifer Schwalbach Smith – considers Harley to be very similar to her father but when asked if she was interested in the role, the actress – who previously starred in Smith’s 2016 film Yoga Hosers and 2019’s Jay And Silent Bob Reboot – she declined the opportunity.“She was just like, ‘You don’t think I’ve got enough nepo baby shit to deal with online? You now want me to play you? Fuck that,’” Smith told the outlet.

After attending Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s wedding, director Kevin Smith was convinced that true love does exist.  "The wedding as presented, just absolutely beautiful," Smith told Fox News Digital exclusively at the "Clerks III" movie premiere.  "Watching two people who worked so hard to get to that moment close the circle and how clearly in love that they are with one another was inspiring," the "Clerks III" director remarked. Jason Mewes, who played Jay in 'Jay and Silent Bob', was also there with his wife Jordan Mansanto.

Instagram, is expected to close the deal on the property, which he will co-own with his wife, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith andother business partners, on Sept. 14.His plans on renovating the 250-seat interior of the theater, already renamed SModcastle Cinemas, involve erecting a mural in the lobby featuring characters from his movies that were set in New Jersey.They include “Clerks,” — which was shot in convenience and video stores where he worked in real life for $27,575 and earned a staggering $3 million at the box office — “Mallrats,” “Chasing Amy” and “Dogma.”He also pledged to host lives shows, create a “Merry Marvel Movie Society” for fans of Marvel Studios releases and open a film school on the premises.
