How retro brands Morgan, Jane Norman and Kookaï are making a ‘vintage' comeback
Y2K fashion is making a comeback – and it’s not just the kitschy, girlie aesthetic that defined the two to three years either side of the millennium, it’s also the high-street brands that used to dominate our wardrobes back then. For me, those were Kookaï, Jane Norman and Morgan (the last was only for special occasions as it was slightly more pricey than my Saturday-job earnings would allow). Jeans were low-rise and boot-leg, usually from Kensington Market (RIP) or Topshop copies of Diesel’s greatest hits. It was the wardrobe of a very average middle-class teenager with a nascent interest in fashion.
