Heather Duffy is opening up about the loss and legacy of her dear friend Anne Heche.

Sharing his mother’s story. Anne Heche’s eldest son, Homer Laffoon, has revealed plans to release the late actress’ unpublished memoir following her death at age 53.

Heather Duffy admitted "everything is a little more complicated" now following the death of her best friend, Anne Heche, as she returned to their "Better Together" podcast for the first time since the late actress died in August. Duffy began the 36-minute recording by telling their "tribe" of listeners that the podcast was "recorded a month ago" and she was deep in the process of keeping Heche's memory alive. Heather said she was "working to get the book that she’d almost completed over the finish line with the publisher" before noting that Anne's second memoir "was written in large part for this tribe.

Anne Heche's second memoir, "Call Me Anne," will be dedicated to her two sons, Homer Laffoon and Atlas Tupper, and is set for a Jan. 24 release date.The Emmy Award-winning actress died last month at the age of 53.

She noted that de Rossi was a guest at her 2001 wedding to to ex-husband Coleman Laffoon.

"Anne was joyful despite all the challenges that she faced in her life.

Anne Heche recalled telling Portia de Rossi not to pursue her ex-girlfriend, Ellen DeGeneres, during a 2021 episode of her "Better Together" podcast with Heather Duffy. In the YouTube video, Heche remembered how she "warned" de Rossi against beginning a relationship with the comedian. Heche and DeGeneres dated for three years before a public break up in 2000, where the actress suffered a mental health breakdown hours after the relationship ended.

Just after the news broke that actress Anne Heche has not "regained consciousness" and is in a coma following her car crash last week, Heche's 20-year-old son, Homer Laffoon, and best friend Heather Perry, were seen at the hospital where Anne is being treated.The two were spotted embracing and looking exhausted. The "Better Together" podcast episode where Anne Heche and co-host Heather Duffy "drank vodka" with "wine chasers" was taken down because of "inaccurate reporting," Fox News Digital can confirm. The episode of the podcast was posted online Friday, but removed after Heche was involved in a near-fatal collision that caught a home on fire and left the actress in "critical condition." The episode was originally recorded Tuesday - three days before the collision. "We removed the episode because there was too much inaccurate reporting that the episode was recorded on the day of the accident when in fact, it was recorded on the Tuesday before the accident," Ryan Tillotson, a spokesperson for the media company behind the podcast, told Fox News Digital.

Anne Heche "drank vodka" with "wine chasers" during a "Better Together" podcast recording with co-host Heather Duffy which was posted hours before the fiery collision Heche reportedly caused on Friday when she crashed her Mini Cooper into a home in Mar Vista, California. Heche joked that listeners would have to keep their "fingers crossed" that the pair would even be able to make it through the recording together.
