'Jim'll Fix It' songwriter furious that notorious paedo Jimmy Savile 'ruined it'
Jimmy Savile has ruined his "feel-good" song.Musician David Mindel was paid £30 to write the now-infamous jingle that accompanied the BBC series, which ran from 1975 until 1994.He claims the sing-a-long track was voted among the top 10 theme tunes of all time and gave people the feel-good factor. But after it was discovered that Savile – who died in 2011 – was one of the UK’s most prolific paedophiles, the programme has been erased from TV history. And Mindel hates the fact that his song is now associated with the sex perv DJ and presenter. Mindel said: "You’ll find nowhere that Jim’ll Fix It had the highest ratings on TV in the 80s: 20million – three times more than Strictly Come Dancing.
