Daft Punk tribute event is set to launch in Los Angeles next month.As Mixmag reports, the special shows are scheduled to take place at LA’s immersive art and music venue Wisdome across two nights next month (April 8/9). Tickets are on sale here for $49 (£37.60).Per an official description, the experience will unfold under a 10,000 sq. ft.

Daft Punk’s music made an unlikely appearance at the Winter Olympics yesterday (February 6).A medley featuring a series of tracks from the former dance duo’s final album ‘Random Access Memories’ was used to soundtrack a routine in the US figure skating Team Event in Beijing.The team were sitting in third place behind Japan in a battle for the silver medal before Madison Chock and Evan Bates performed their Daft Punk routine which included snippets of ‘Within’, ‘Contact’ and ‘Touch’.As a result the team picked up the silver medal. Death From Above 1979 have revealed to NME that they turned down the chance to reunite to support Daft Punk on the dance duo’s legendary ‘Alive 2007’ tour.The band were speaking in a new interview ahead of the release of their new album ‘Is 4 Lovers’ this week (March 26).In the interview, the band’s Jesse F. Keeler revealed that they were approached by Daft Punk’s manager to open up for the duo on what would end up being their final ever tour.“NME, I’m gonna tell you a secret that nobody knows,” Keeler said.
