Meghan Markle has cancelled her plans to become a UK citizen, a year after the couple stepped back as senior members of the Royal Family and set up home in California, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The Duchess of Sussex began proceedings to become a citizen of the UK after she married Prince Harry in May of 2018 at Windsor Castle.Over a year after their nuptials, the couple made the decision to step back from Royal life and struck up a deal with Buckingham Palace that saw them finally move to Meghan’s home state of California.The move means Meghan will have to return to the UK to get citizenship.According to the Daily Telegraph, the pair have no plans to return to the UK and so there is "no reason" to pursue the Duchess' application for.
