Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed Odion Ighalo’s impact at Manchester United and it’s not hard to see why. The signing of Ighalo, late in the January transfer window, raised eyebrows at first.
To critics, the signing embodied United’s fall from grace and the incompetency of the board when in reality, so far, Ighalo has made an outstanding impact in such a short space of time.
And while Ighalo trended top worldwide on social media after he signed on the dotted line at Old Trafford, he was soon trending for his goal-scoring exploits a few weeks later.
Ighalo, a boyhood United fan, would become the first Nigerian to score for the club, as he tucked home in the Red Devils’ comfortable 5-0 home win over Club Brugge in the Europa League.
