Glasgow today prompting beach-goers to head to the coast in their droves. One Scot shared a picture of crowds spilling from trains in Troon as Glaswegians spent the day basking in the sun in Ayrshire.He said: "My mate just sent me this he was getting off the train at Troon station earlier this was the exodus off the train behind him."Cops and British Transport Police were on patrol this afternoon, while Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was deployed on "proactive incident prevention" at local beaches.The coastguard team said: "The beaches across Ayrshire are exceptionally busy with people enjoying the good weather and we are urging everyone to stay safe when visiting the coast."CalMac ferries also warned of delays and even temporarily.
