King Charles' heartwarming words to his son, Prince William, after he kissed his cheek in an emotional moment during the Coronation has been revealed.
King Charles, 74, has been crowned the nation’s monarch today in Westminster Abbey in a two hour ceremony. Charles became the 40th reigning sovereign to be crowned at the abbey, the nation’s coronation church since 1066, as Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby placed St Edward’s Crown on his head.
In a touching moment, William pledged himself to his father the King, kissing him on the cheek and touching St Edward’s Crown.
As William knelt before Charles, who held his son’s hand between his palms, he said: “I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my loyalty to you and faith and truth I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb.
