In 2004, she made her film debut with a role in the teen comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. In 2007, she co-starred as Mikaela Banes, the love interest of Shia LaBeouf's character, in the blockbuster action film Transformers, which became her breakout role.

Green revealed their break-up in the latest episode of his podcast, saying they have been "trying to sort of be apart" since the end of last year. "I will always love her," Green said. "And I know she will always love me and I know as far as a family what we have built is really cool and really special." Green said the family would still go on holiday together, before becoming emotional and describing Fox as "my best friend for 15 years".
