Oleksandr Usyk fluffs big chance just seconds into his debut for Ukranian football club
Oleksandr Usyk made his footballing debut for Ukrainian second-tier side FC Polissya on Friday - and missed an absolute sitter just seconds after coming on.The Ukrainian, who beat Anthony Joshua in September to win the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight straps, has been training with the club for the past couple of weeks.Coming on at centre forward with his side leading 2-1, the 35-year-old spurned an easy chance to put the game to bed when the ball was laid on a plate for him just a few yards out.Despite shrugging off his marker with an impressive dummy run, Usyk fluffed his lines moments later after swinging a leg at, and completely missing, his teammates' cutback. It didn't matter in the end though as Polissya held on to secure victory. The team are currently preparing for the new season, which begins in March, at a winter training camp and arranged for Usyk to take part in some of their pre-season tournament friendlies.Over the past few days he's been taking part in training drills and small-sided matches with his Polissya teammates, and there's even talk of him being offered a contract with the club.Who do you think is better at football - Oleksandr Usyk or Usain Bolt? Let us know in the comments..."If Usyk strengthens our team, we will offer a professional contract, if not, we will just give a chance to try his hand at football," Polissya director Volodymyr Zagursky told The Times Hub."What will Usyk's participation in the tournament look like? These moments are kept secret.
