Hanson recently announced that One Nation will be running for the Tasmanian Senate via newly endorsed party member and serial political hopeful, Steve Mav.Hanson said she was “pleased to announce Steve Mav as my number one senate lead candidate in Tasmania for the upcoming federal election.”“We are of the same value, we believe in the same objectives, we have the same passion for Australia,” Hanson added.It is of little surprise that Mav shares many of the questionable views also held by Hanson’s One Nation Party.

NSW Parliament’s Education Committee which inquired into Pauline Hanson’s One Nation MLC Mark Latham’s anti-trans education bill, has made a series of recommendations that LGBTQI+ rights advocates have said are a “direct attack on the safety of trans and gender diverse young people in schools.”   Activists have said that the report on the Education Legislation Amendment (Parental Rights) Bill 2020, proposed by Latham, include recommendations that if enacted would erase the rights of trans students and out them to their parents.The committee that looked into the bill was also chaired by Latham. The other members of the committee were Wes Fang  from The Nationals, Liberal Party MLCs Catherine Cusack and Scott Farlow, Labor MLCs Anthony D’Adam

This time the embattled senator has come out saying that parents of young children who believe their child might be transgender should have their children taken off them.“Confusing kids and going to the doctor and parent’s saying ‘Look, my four-year-old they really can’t identify, and we want to change their sex.’ You are bloody idiots, how can a kid at four years old know if they want to be male or if they actually want to be a girl.”The comments were made by Senator Hanson on Pellowe Talk – an online ‘political discussion’ program in an episode which featured conversation surrounding the recent announcement of the Queensland government’s bill to outlaw conversion therapy in the state.
