William Earl Fresh off of being named to BBC Radio 1’s 2021 Brit List and landing a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group, UK newcomer Holly Humberstone has signed with Polydor Records, Darkroom and Interscope Records.The 21-year-old singer-songwriter released several singles in 2020 to rave reviews and had completed a European tour opening for Lewis Capaldi just before the COVID pandemic. In August 2020, Humberstone dropped her “Falling Asleep at the Wheel” EP, which Variety noted in a review, “marks the arrival of a major new talent.” The debut project is nearing 100 million streams.Humberstone, who is managed by Josh Sanger of Closer Artists, also recently confirmed a collaboration with 1975’s Matt Healy.

The nominees for the Breakthrough Artist and Manager categories at this year’s Artist And Manager Awards have been announced, ahead of next month’s ceremony.Among them are PinkPantheress, Self Esteem and Wet Leg on the artist side, and Deleon Blake, Josh Sanger and Phoebe Gold on the management side. As well as that, Red Light Management has been confirmed as winner of the Writer/Producer Manager Award.“It was incredibly tough deciding on this year’s Breakthroughs, but I think we’re finally satisfied that these two shortlists reflect the past year’s range of managerial and artist successes”, says MMF CEO Annabella Coldrick.“I’m also really pleased that we can recognise the achievements of Red Light Management with our Writer/Producer Manager Award”, she adds.

Holly Humberstone has released her new short music film, On The Run — you can watch it in full below.The Lincolnshire musician stars in the Raja Virdi and Josh Sanger-directed clip, which was written by the duo in collaboration with Humberstone and filmed in a paper mill in the Midlands close to the artist’s hometown of Grantham.Released as a visual accompaniment to her acclaimed debut EP ‘Falling Asleep At The Wheel’, a synopsis for On The Run reads: “Since bonfire night Holly Humberstone has been on the run. She was last seen in a wooded area in the vicinity of her childhood home in Grantham, her father’s car left ablaze as she fled on foot.
