Alex Beresford, 42, has called for justification over the attack on King Charles III's waxwork as he pointed out the monarch's work on climate change today.Two activists were filmed covering the waxwork in chocolate cake as part of their ongoing protests against the government investing in new oil and gas.In view of his 244,000 followers, the presenter wrote: "Considering the work King Charles has done for Climate Change I would love to hear the justification for doing this."Many of his fans were in favour of his thoughts sd they shared their opinion.Catherine Birtwell commented: "@alexberesfordTV Totally agree, totally unnecessary.""Respectfully… protest is about publicity… and they are getting a lot of it," added Twitter user Matthew.Jim Hinchliffe blasted the protestors as "criminals".Audrey Wells added: "Pathetic kids that are getting away with this outrageous behaviour. Lock them up for 6 months."On Just Stop Oil's Twitter page, protestors who have been named Eilidh and Tom, are seen covering the King's face while someone can be heard in the background telling them to stop.In a statement the pair said: "We are here because we seek to protect our freedoms and rights, because we seek to protect this green and pleasant land which is the inheritance of us all."The science is clear.The demand is simple: just stop new oil and gas.
