I was sexually assaulted when I was a 15-year-old child star – I should have spoken out but was too scared
ACTRESS Gemma Bissix has bravely told how she was sexually assaulted at an awards ceremony when she starred on BBC soap EastEnders at just 15 years old. Gemma, now 39, has told how she was assaulted in the toilets at an awards ceremony, where she was named Best Young Actor, by the man employed by party organisers to take charge of her care that evening. The actress, who has also appeared in Hollyoaks, was then inappropriately propositioned again when she appeared in pantomime after leaving EastEnders at 15 - with no “aftercare whatsoever”.
