Coronavirus Scotland: NHS share information on new COVID-19 symptom
NHS Ayrshire & Arran has shared information on a new coronavirus symptom today.
Earlier this morning, the Scottish Government confirmed that a new symptom was being added alongside a continuous cough and a fever.
Now medical chiefs believe that a loss or a change in the sense of smell could be a sign that a person has the coronavirus.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran posted on Facebook: "A loss or change in your sense of smell has been added to the list of coronavirus symptoms.
"It can also affect your sense of taste as the two are closely linked."
A statement from the four UK Chief Medical Officers on an update to Coronavirus symptoms said: “From today, all individuals should self-isolate if they develop a new continuous cough or fever or anosmia.
