The pop superstar made a virtual appearance in court in Los Angeles on Wednesday, asking judge Brenda Perry to put an end to the arrangement, put in place after she suffered a breakdown in 2008.
She told the court that the conservatorship, currently managed by her father Jamie Spears alongside professional fiduciary Jodi Montgomery, was doing “way more harm than good” by exerting extensive control over her day-to-day life, her finances and her personal affairs.
