While some series, such as “Sex Education” will be premiering final seasons, others, such as “The Boys” spinoff “Gen V” aim to create yet another mega-hit series.

What happens after the Dark One is vanquished? Amazon’s “The Wheel of Time” returns with a world still plagued by evil. This time, Rand and his closest companions from Two Rivers find themselves apart; their distance creates the perfect opportunity for something far more sinister to create chaos.

Amazon Prime’s “The Wheel of Time” is a ponderous slog, a show that wants so badly to be the next “Game of Thrones” or even “The Witcher” that it telegraphs its pretentious self-seriousness with every line of dialogue and slow turn in the plot. It’s a death march through fantasy TV clichés that likely worked splendidly on the page in Robert Jordan’s books, wherein readers could imagine the exciting world that the people behind this show never bothered to create.

We are still a full year away from the highly-anticipated debut of “The Lord of the Rings” TV series on Amazon. But, in the meantime, if you still need your large-scale fantasy fix, the streamer has another offering for you in November, “The Wheel of Time.” As seen in the trailer for “The Wheel of Time,” Robert Jordan’s iconic fantasy novel series is coming to Amazon Prime Video next month and tells the story of a woman, who is part of an organization of all-female magic users.

And, if they're not successful in stopping the Dark One, as Moraine warns, «The whole world will burn.»follows Moiraine, a member of the powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers.
