The Queen's Christmas pantomime appearances including Cinderella and Aladdin
During the Second World War, the Queen and Princess Margaret were evacuated to the countryside at Windsor Castle in order to avoid the bombings in London. As part of the evacuation, the two sisters were encouraged by their parents – George VI and Queen Elizabeth – to help boost the morale of other children separated from their parents. To do so, the young royals interacted with local children at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, partaking in pantomimes including Cinderella and Aladdin.
