'Excuse is total BS!' Dan Walker called out by Strictly co-star for 'flaking' on reunion
Dan Walker had been invited to go wild swimming with his Strictly Come Dancing co-stars, but had to decline - and Sara Davies wasn't accepting his excuse.The sheepish BBC Breakfast star attempted to explain away the situation on his Instagram Stories.Talking during a special Q&A session on social media, he was quizzed on whether he'd be willing to brave the water."Would you ever go wild-swimming like the Strictly tour lot?" the question read."I was going to, actually, when we were in Sheffield," Dan recalled, referencing his hometown."I was invited down by the Reverend Kate Botley and Sara - but I just couldn't get back from work in time."It looked like fun, and I'd love to have a go."However, he added of his ill-preparedness: "Appropriate footwear always essential when wild swimming, I think!"If the luxurious-looking work shoes he has posted on Instagram to show off his shoe-sock combinations are anything to go by, they would have been nowhere near casual enough for a sporty swimming trip.However, he also reposted Sara's feisty assessment of the situation, where she'd written: "Yeah we invited him and he totally flaked on us."This excuse about not getting back from work on time is total BS - he chickened out!" she added, using a chicken emoji to punctuate her point.Dan appeared to own up to his antics, adding a GIF which read: "GUILTY."However, in previous Q&A footage from yesterday, Dan took the moment to present himself as courageous.He told fans: "The best thing about being a journalist is the opportunity to be a sword for those without weapons and a shield for those who can't defend themselves."However, his job wasn't always deeply serious, as he demonstrated when he revealed one of his embarrassing moments in the
