Singer Marty Wilde proud as he becomes one of first celebrities to get coronavirus vaccine: ‘It’s common sense’
Singer Marty Wilde couldn’t be more proud after becoming one of the first celebrities to get the coronavirus vaccine. The Teenager In Love received the Pfizer jab by nurse Cat Gribben at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Hertfordshire on Thursday afternoon. Marty, 81, had called the NHS hotline last week after being advised by a friend to enquire if he was eligible for the vaccine. After hearing the good news, Marty booked himself in and can now say he is one of the first stars in the world to have the injection which should prevent him from contracting Covid-19 severely. Speaking after the vaccination, the rock and roll singer said: ‘Having just had my Covid injection I can honestly say it was an easy experience, if that’s the right word.
