Corrie star who plays soap's newest villain auditioned for a different role
Coronation Street but the part went to someone else.And things could have been very different indeed if Mark had landed the other role.He went for the part of Pat Phelan's sidekick Vinny Ashford who was played by former Emmerdale star Ian Kelsey.Fortunately for Mark he didn't get the role, because Vinny met a grisly end back in 2017.Vinny teamed up with his old pal Phelan on the dodgy Calcutta Street flats development to rip off hopeful homeowners and con them out of their hard earned cash.Vinny did a bunk with the cash but Phelan managed to coax him back by befriending his mother Flora at her nursing home.
