Vegans are more likely to suffer broken bones than omnivores or pescatarians, research suggests.A study of almost 50,000 UK residents found that people who eat no animal products and follow a plant-based diet are 43% more likely to fracture their bones. The risk of fracture was reduced when body mass index (BMI), protein and calcium intake were considered.
