'Was there really nothing she could do?' Adele's BRIT Awards performance sparks complaints
BRIT Awards yesterday, Adele walked away with the most awards, as she bagged Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Mastercard Album of the Year.The star also took to the stage for a spell-binding performance of I Drink Wine, taken from her fourth album, 30.Adele, 33, impressed her many fans with her beautiful rendition, but it also left some people scratching their heads.Last month, Adele announced that she would be delaying her Las Vegas residency on the basis that her show “isn’t ready” for audiences. The star was forced to delay her three-month stint in the States after Covid hit the production team, making it “impossible to finish the show”.Given her wonderful performance at the BRITs, however, some fans on social media were left questioning her decision. Jesal Parshotam tweeted: “What is interesting is that Adele is attending the Brits in London but Vegas Residency ticket holders still don’t know where they stand.”While Corey Seville quipped: “At least all those people that paid thousands to watch Adele perform in Vegas can watch her perform at the #BRITS instead.”Megdale89 wrote: “So Adele can’t manage her concerts in Vegas, which by the way cost the earth. “But she can turn up to the Brits where she’s won awards and is basically headlining the show.”Andrew Jazzie posted a picture of Adele performing her piano ballad at the ceremony, captioning it: “Brilliant singer.
