A trio of producers have sued Travis Scott accusing him of ripping off their guitar melody on his 2019 hit ‘Highest In The Room’. They say that melody comes from a song they wrote and which they shared with some of the producers who collaborated on Scott’s track.The plaintiffs in the case are Olivier Bassil, Benjamin Lasnier and Lukas Benjamin Leth and the song they say Scott ripped off is called ‘Cartier’.

Billboard, the suit claims Scott and his collaborators were “pretending to be interested in a collaboration”, only to “intentionally [break] the rules by exploiting plaintiffs work without consent or a license, masquerading as if plaintiff’s music is their own”.The three plaintiffs are songwriters Olivier Bassil, Benjamin Lasnier and Lukas Benjamin Leth, who filed the suit yesterday (June 9) against Scott and his collaborators, including Oz (Ozan Yildirim), Nik Dejan Frascona, Mike Dean, Jimmy Cash (Jamie Lepr) and Sean Solymar.The songwriters are asking the court to award them damages in addition to their share of royalties for ‘Highest in the Room’, which debuted at Number One on Billboard‘s Hot 100 last October.The songwriters claim they

Travis Scott was sued Tuesday in Los Angeles federal court by a trio of European songwriters for alleged copyright infringement over his song Highest In The Room.The 28-year-old Houston rapper and other credited authors were accused by Benjamin Lasnier, Olivier Bassil and Lukas Benjamin in a 37-page complaint of using the guitar melody from their song Cartier without authorization, according to an article by Billboard.Highest In The Room debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in October knocking off Truth Hurts by Lizzo, 32, and spent 22 weeks among the Hot 100.
