Hollywood actor Bo Hopkins has died at 80. The star passed away in hospital in Van Nuys, Los Angeles with his wife Sian confirming to The Hollywood Reporter he had had a heart attack on May 9.Bo had a career spanning seven decades and was best known for his role in American Graffiti, where he played the role of gang leader Joe.Prior to his appearance on the hit crime movie, he appeared on other blockbusters such as The Wild Bunch, Midnight Express, The Getaway and Posse.He also featured on the small screen, taking up roles on series such as Hawaii Five-O, Mod Squad, Dynasty, Charlie's Angels and Murder, She Wrote.His last performance came alongside Glenn Close and Amy Adams on 202's Hillbilly Elegy.Following the news of his death, fans and famous faces took to social media to share messages of condolence.Co-star Glenn's tribute read: "Just heard that the wonderful Bo Hopkins died peacefully, early this morning, with his devoted wife, Sian, holding his hand."It was a great privilege to work with Bo in HILLBILLY ELEGY.
