Debby Ryan is looking back at her time as a Disney Channel star and director fondly. This year marks the 11th anniversary of her show, , premiering and the actress says the series not only inspired her to branch out in her entertainment career but also gave her confidence onscreen. Ryan spoke with ET's Cassie DiLaura Wednesday at the premiere of her forthcoming film,, and couldn't help but get nostalgic over her breakthrough role in the industry and explain how Disney entrusted her to become the network's youngest-ever director. When asked about the ways  shaped her career, Ryan said, «Countless ways, probably in ways that I haven’t made eye contact with, but  was the first time I felt that I was in rhythm with Disney Channel.»  premiered in 2011 and held a four-season run on the famed kids' network.

Selome Hailu Sasheer Zamata has set a new comedy special titled “The First Woman,” which will be released for purchase via 800 Pound Gorilla on Aug. 15 before arriving on YouTube on Aug. 29. “The First Woman” was taped at Union Stage in Washington D.C. Per the logline, the one-hour show sees Zamata discuss “getting scammed by dates, masturbating in cars and being visited by witches in her sleep.” “The First Woman” is executive produced by Sam Saifer, Ian Adkins, Ryan Bitzer, Damion Greiman, and Anthony Leo. Producers include Zamata, Scott Moran and Matt Schuler. On the 800 Pound Gorilla site, the special will be available with a pay-what-you-wish model.
