Derry Girls creator shares first look at thriller series starring Paul Mescal
brand new series.We’re even more excited to learn that this thriller series features Normal People’s Paul Mescal.Lisa shared a trailer for The Deceived and it looks like it’s our next obsession.The four part series will air on Virgin Media later this year, with Paul playing McKeogh, the confidante to lead character Ophelia who is having an affair with her lecturer.He’ll move away from his GAA roots and play the brooding builder who helps Ophelia as she realises that she can’t trust anyone, including herself.Ophelia is played by Belgravia actress, Emily Reid. While Emmett J Scanlan, who appeared in The Clinic and The Fall on our shores as well as Peaky Blinders and Gangs of London, will play her love interest, Dr Michael Callaghan.
