Headteacher tells Good Morning Britain why she banned teachers from saying 'good morning boys and girls'

A Birmingham headteacher has revealed she has "banned" the use of "sexist" language at her primary school. Speaking on Thursday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, Sarah Hewitt-Clarkson said that she did not allow pupils to say terms such as "man up" and "grow a pair" and even prohibited teachers from saying "good morning boys and girls".

Sarah, who heads up Anderton Park Primary, explained: "In the last year, we have seen the biggest ever increase in child abuse and grooming. "If our boys, and girls, grow up and we don't address this sexist language where boys are told to 'man up', 'grow a pair', 'boys don't cry', it is very damaging for them." She continued: "Abusers later on, or bullies, will also use this fear.
