The coronavirus lockdown could force hundreds of animals to be killed as zoos go out of business and can't afford to feed their animals.

Wildlife expert, Sam Threadgill, has warned of a catastrophic situation as the pandemic could push several attractions to the brink of collapsing.

As zoos are unable to make money and keep their business running, a number of attractions have launched appeals to stay afloat.

Animals could suffer as zoos will be unable to keep up with costs of feeding exotic species – which can cost thousands of pounds per day.
